Deconditioning is like...
...standing on the edge of a cliff, ready to take off with your new wings
I had an exchange with someone on Reddit about deconditioning today that was super insightful. Talking to this person, I had a clear picture of a helpful analogy.
At some point in deconditioning, you get to the point when you’re on the edge of the cliff, ready to take off with your new wings. But, you don’t know, yet, whether flying works.
So, you keep doing the old thing. You fiddle around online, take to your friends, watch another tutorial, another inspirational video.
At this point, you have to trust in yourself and in your path. You’ve done all the necessary steps before that.
You’ve consulted your authority, you’ve followed your strategy. Now’s the time to act.
It’s weird, it’s scary.
Like others, I also don’t 100% love it and have to keep practicing it.
Listening to your inner authority feels like a leap of faith.
Yet, at some point, you have to test whether flying works.
Here’s to an airborne weekend for all of us.
