Working Out for Manifestors
How to move, when you don't have consistent energy
One of my pet peeves in the Human Design world is the prevalence of “drained all the time”-content for Manifestors (and the other non-sacrals).
Yes, Manifestors don’t have consistent access to energy like sacral beings (Generators and Mani Gens). We’re still energy beings, not house plants, though.
Managing your energy as a Manifestor is crucial to have enough left for your initiations. You can’t afford to fuck around on things that don’t matter.
So, how do you fit working out into that?
Three Tips for Moving Sustainably as a Manifestor
Working out is not the same as movement. I move, don’t work out. I see working out as an effort to burn off energy like sacral beings do. Instead, moving helps you move energy in your body and keep it healthy and working. It’s a perspective shift that’s helped me tremendously in my journey.
Listen to your authority. If it tells you to move, move. If it tells you to rest, rest. No HD reading and online content can replace the truth of your inner voice.
Look at your arrows. The bottom left arrow in your chart can tell you more about how your body moves best in its environment. If it points left, like in the photo above, you’re meant to be active in your environment. A supportive physical environment keeps you active. It’s good for you and your body to be moving around: Leave the house, run an errand, go for a walk, or move some furniture. If it points right, you’re meant to observe others move in their environment. Ra Uru Hu, the messenger of Human Design, compared this to being a born couch potato. You still move, of course! Though what’s good for you and your body will be much more restful than for somebody with a left arrow. A supportive environment will help you chill and observe the movement of others. With a left arrow, avoid being physically stagnant. With a right arrow, be careful to filter out do-do-do messages and make time for rest.
Notes From My Experiment:
In the past, there were instances when I would go over an inner boundary for moving, especially when I was with sacral beings and amplifying their energy.
Often, there came a point when I felt I was drawing energy from my inner well. It was deeply uncomfortable, yet I kept pushing on because of sacral conditioning. I didn’t know yet that I was a Manifestor. I thought I had to burn off energy like everyone else.
Now that I know, I am watchful to never pass this boundary in moving and life. If I do, I get angry. The not-self comes through powerfully to tell me that this energy depletion is a terrible idea. When I don’t observe my inner boundaries like that, it can take me a day or two to recharge to a neutral place.
It feels terrible, which ultimately is a powerful sign post to avoid doing that again.
I wonder whether you’ve observed something like this for yourself, as well, and how you deal with this.
